(Bangui, October 29, 2026 | LAMINE MÉDIA) Since September 8, sixty officials and staff members from the ministry responsible for Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration, and Repatriation (DDRR)—as well as the monitoring of the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation (APPR)—have been participating in a training program in Bangui, launched by MINUSCA.
This session, organized into two-day modules, aims to strengthen the skills of national stakeholders tasked with implementing the DDRR process and monitoring the APPR. Specifically, participants are focusing on areas including disarmament, demobilization, reintegration, community violence reduction, mediation, security sector reform, and the management of small arms and light weapons.
According to Pierre Emmanuel Ubalijoro, Head of the DDR Section at MINUSCA, building national capacity is essential to ensuring the sustainability of achievements in peace, security, and social cohesion. General Henri Wanzet Linguissara, the minister in charge of DDRR and the monitoring of the APPR, expressed his gratitude to the contributors—foremost among them MINUSCA, as well as various technical and financial partners.
A second session will soon bring together another sixty officials and staff members from the ministry.
