(Bangui, October 8, 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) Accompanied by the Minister of National Education, Aurélien Simplice Zingas; the Minister of Livestock and Animal Health, Amadou Bi Aliou; the Minister in charge of Humanitarian Action, Josiane Lina Bemakassoui; and the Minister Delegate for Agriculture, Mr. Aboubacar Jagno, President Touadéra received Mr. Carl Skau—Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), who is on an official visit to the Central African Republic (CAR)—in an audience yesterday, October 7, 2026.
Discussions focused primarily on WFP programs aimed at providing school meals to the greatest possible number of children, with the goal of reaching 450,000 students this year.
In this regard, Carl Skau noted that school feeding goes beyond simply providing meals to students; it also serves as a means to encourage school attendance, improve educational outcomes, and support the local economy when foodstuffs are purchased and prepared locally. He emphasized that the WFP wishes to support this approach in the CAR and promote it as a model that can inspire other countries in the region and beyond.
