Tina Touadéra Inaugurates Well-Drilling Projects

(Bangui, July 26, 2026 | LAMINE MÉDIA) In all modern countries, running water flows from the tap—except in the Central African Republic, where people celebrate the digging of wells to obtain drinking water. In this vein, Tina Touadéra—President of the Tina Touadéra Foundation (because, as it happens, a Tina Touadéra Foundation actually exists)—oversaw the launch of borehole and water tower construction in Bangui’s 8th arrondissement on Saturday, July 17, 2026, aiming to improve the population's access to potable water. During the event, she delivered a speech on the benefits of water. After the customary remarks, she expressed her gratitude to the head of the Direct-Aid project (bearing in mind that they are the ones footing the bill) and to the Director General of the National Equipment Office (ONM), Mano Mathias, for their contributions to the project's implementation. It is worth noting that this project—comprising ten boreholes equipped with water towers—is being carried out by a Kuwaiti non-governmental organization. One wonders what role the Tina Touadéra Foundation is actually playing in all this.
