Strengthening Russo-Central African Ties

(Bangui, July 15, 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) In case you were unaware, at the behest of Touadéra, the CAR has found itself a new master—Russia—a fact exemplified by the hegemonic presence of Wagner mercenaries. In a move to further strengthen these ties (or rather, this state of submission), General Zéphirin Mamadou, Commander of the Bangui Defense Zone, held a meeting yesterday, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his office with Colonel Sergey Baidov, Deputy Head of the Russian Federation's military mission to the Central African Republic. This meeting served to reinforce—if reinforcement were even needed—military and strategic cooperation between the two nations; specifically, discussions focused on training, the operational capabilities of the FACA (Central African Armed Forces), and the development of technical and military cooperation initiatives.
