Piri’s "Kwa Ti Kodro"

(Bangui, July 28, 2026 | LAMINE MÉDIA) Last Saturday—following the example of Touadéra, and echoing the "great success" seen a few weeks earlier—the Minister of Public Works and Equipment, Arthur Bertrand Piri, took part in a sanitation drive held at the National Laboratory for Buildings and Public Works (LNBTP). This was part of a cleanup campaign known as "Kwa Ti Kodro" (work for the country). The cleanup effort mobilized staff from the Ministry of Public Works and Equipment, as well as personnel from the LNBTP, the National Equipment Office (ONM), and the Road Fund (FR). Let’s be clear right away: just like with Touadéra, this is more about propaganda and amateurism than anything else—especially since, in terms of actual effectiveness, it is worthless! Piri spun a yarn to everyone, claiming this cleanup campaign was part of the "enlightened civic actions" initiated by the President of the Republic. He also called on citizens to follow suit. It is worth noting that this type of initiative falls under the purview of the City Hall’s sanitation services, not passing amateurs showing off. Note also that this operation is lavishly funded—to the tune of billions of CFA francs—by theEuropean Union and the World Bank; yet that money has vanished—though not for everyone, as it surely ended up in the pockets of the "scroungers" looking for a quick buck.
