OCHA Report

(Bangui, 26 September 2026 | LAMINE MÉDIA) According to an OCHA report, nearly 2.3 million people in the Central African Republic – equivalent to nearly one in three Central Africans – will require life-saving humanitarian aid in 2026. The report also states that the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance has fallen slightly compared with 2025, when it was estimated at 2.4 million. However, humanitarian needs remain significant, due, amongst other things, to localised insecurity, natural disasters and health emergencies which continue to disrupt the stabilisation of communities.
Nevertheless, despite an improvement in the security situation in certain regions over the last three years, more than one million people remain forcibly displaced.
These displacements are primarily due to clashes between armed groups, inter-community tensions linked to transhumance, as well as the consequences of climate-related shocks and floods, as described by OCHA in its report.
