(Mbaïki, 17 May 2026 – LNC) After the global days dedicated to a bit of everything, we now have global months dedicated to something specific; and of course the CAR cannot be left behind. And this time, it is ‘Labour Month’, officially launched in Mbaïki, in Lobaye. This is the fifth edition of the event, which is now being extended to the interior of the country. The Minister for Labour, Employment, Social Protection and Vocational Training, Annie Mouanga, officially launched the activities in Mbaïki last Monday. An opening ceremony was held in the presence of administrative and local authorities, youth representatives and socio-professional stakeholders from the region. In her speech, Annie Mouanga, after singing the praises of Touadéra, spoke of social inclusion, youth employability and the promotion of work across the entire country. During this ‘Month of Work’, discussions will focus on the Labour Code, the organisation of a Job Fair, vocational workshops run by the Central African Agency for Vocational Training and Employment (ACFPE), and the presentation of the I-COMPETE project. Moreover, according to ministry officials, the I-COMPETE project will enable the training of nearly 5,700 young people across the country in various promising sectors. In Lobaye, 25 young beneficiaries of the IFEF project were officially introduced to the minister by their parents so that they could begin training in agri-food processing. Through these programmes, the authorities aim to strengthen young people’s professional skills and facilitate their integration into the national economy. “Work must be valued everywhere, in Bangui as well as in Mbaïki,” said Minister Annie Mouanga.
