(N'Djamena, August 26, 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) In Chad—an officially Muslim country, a fact that proves significant here—the trial of General Abdoulaye Miskine (whose real name is Martin Koumtamadji) and his co-defendants was rescheduled for today by the N’Djamena High Court (having originally been set for August 24, 2026). The reasons for the postponement reflect the country's specific context: rainfall (a standard factor) and, more notably, the observance of Mawlid an-Nabawi (the Prophet's Birthday). Abdoulaye Miskine has been held without trial at Klessoum Prison for seven years. He is imprisoned alongside Adoum Rakhis, Ringo Djouma, and Abdel-Aziz, facing serious charges including murder, rape, and insurrectionist activities committed in the border region between Chad and the Central African Republic. His defense team highlights his critical health condition, characterized by kidney failure and severe weight loss. General Miskine and his co-defendants will be represented by a team of ten lawyers. The civil parties in the case are the State of Chad and the Central African Republic. The trial has just begun.
