Touadéra has returned to Bangui
By Isidore M'bayo | LNC Translated into English by Karen Ann SULLIVAN l LNC
(Bangui, 16 May 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) Touadéra returned to Bangui on the evening of Tuesday 12 May 2026 after attending the Africa Forward 2026 Summit, which was strangely held in an Anglophone country (given that Francophones no longer want it) in Nairobi, Kenya. Nevertheless, during the proceedings, participants called for a more balanced partnership, based on priorities defined by African countries themselves. The summit also highlighted the need to encourage local initiatives capable of supporting sustainable and inclusive growth. Upon his arrival at Bangui M’Poko Airport, Touadéra was welcomed by Prime Minister Félix Moloua (in what was his final official engagement as Prime Minister), flanked by several members of the government, officials from the presidential office, as well as senior defence and security officials, notably the Chief of the Defence Staff and the Directors-General of the Police and the National Gendarmerie. Nothing out of the ordinary, really!
