Meeting with Balalou

(Bangui, July 18, 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) Last Thursday, Balalou—that utter scoundrel and Minister of Trade and Industry—granted an audience to a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in the Central African Republic, led by Li Qinfeng.

It was a courtesy visit intended to congratulate Balalou on his recent appointment and to reaffirm the excellent cooperative relations between the two countries.

Beyond these protocol-driven pleasantries, Ambassador Li Qinfeng noted that the implementation of zero-tariff treatment for all Central African products exported to China has led to a significant increase in trade, marking a 38% rise compared to 2024.

Consequently, the Chinese delegation reiterated its commitment to supporting the Ministry of Trade and Industry in promoting Central African products on the Chinese market, aiming to further strengthen economic ties and foster the Central African Republic’s more dynamic integration into international trade networks.

Furthermore, in a spirit of win-win partnership, the Chinese Embassy announced the upcoming organization of capacity-building seminars in China for Ministry officials. These training sessions aim to develop participants' professional skills and deepen bilateral cooperation; for his part, Maxime Balalou praised the exemplary quality of relations between Bangui and Beijing—and all the usual blah-blah-blah.
