ANE staff threaten to go on strike

By Albert FALL l LNC

(Bangui, 19 April 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) It must be a recurring theme (something that keeps coming up) In the Central African Republic, under Touadéra, salaries are not being paid, (whatever Touadéra’s sycophants may say), for instance, as the 26 April elections approach, officials at the National Electoral Authority are denouncing several months of unpaid wages and are considering going on strike. This situation is undermining the logistical organisation of the vote and causing concern among civil society. Negotiations are underway to avoid a postponement of the electoral calendar. What’s the situation? Ten days before the second round of the legislative and regional elections, the strike is going to spice things up! It must be said that the National Electoral Authority (ANE) is going through a period of severe turbulence, and it certainly lives up to its name – it’s a proper ANE. And this thing is really rubbish; it’s not me saying it, it’s Dologuélé, aka Mr 10%.
