Displaced populations from Am Dafock

(Am Dafock, July 5, 2026 | LAMINE MEDIA) During a press conference, officials and natives of the Fertit region called for a mobilization of solidarity to support populations displaced following the deterioration of the security situation in Am-Dafock, in the Vakaga prefecture. Clashes that have occurred since June 30 in this town on the Sudan border have caused significant population displacement. They attribute these attacks to the armed groups FPRC and MDRCJ, whom they accuse of being backed by foreign mercenaries. Faced with this crisis, many residents—especially women, children, and other vulnerable individuals—have sought refuge at the MINUSCA site. Although no official figures have been released, speakers emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian assistance to meet the displaced persons' essential needs. Ultimately, the participants put forward about ten recommendations, a key one being the need for rapid support and care for the displaced persons. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Transport, Djono Ahaba; the Minister Delegate in charge of DDR, Gilbert Toumou Deya; Minister-Counselor Kalité Deya; as well as several officials hailing from the region.
