3rd Russia-Africa Summit

(Bangui, October 28, 2026 | LAMINE MÉDIA) The third Russia-Africa summit begins today in Moscow. Spanning two days, the event follows the same format as the previous two editions—held in Sochi in 2019 and Saint Petersburg in 2023—consisting of two days of discussions and meetings. This time, the summit is taking place in the heart of the capital, with Vladimir Putin playing a particularly active role. However, no significant results have emerged thus far.
A motorcade of black "Aurus" limousines can be seen traveling along Moscow’s grand avenues, carrying distinguished guests—African heads of state—to their respective hotels. In total, 22 heads of state are in attendance, with 48 countries represented.
President Touadéra, who arrived the day before, is present for the third time—a steadfast ally among allies.
The agenda includes discussions on trade, investment, civil nuclear energy, agriculture, food security, and security cooperation—all aimed at defining priorities for the next three years.
This marks a shift from 2023, when the discussions focused more on objectives related to industrialization, technology transfer, and investment.
For the Central African Republic, this summit serves as an opportunity to forge new partnerships capable of yielding tangible benefits for the national economy.
The plenary sessions will be held at the prestigious Gostiny Dvor—a historic building near Red Square—and the Grand Kremlin Palace.
Alongside the main proceedings, a business program is expected to bring together approximately 4,000 Russian and African entrepreneurs from various sectors, participating in around forty separate events. Since 2017, the Central African Republic has been strengthening its relations with Russia, particularly in the fields of security, culture, the economy, and education, among others. For African nations, the goal is to derive greater benefit from this cooperation—through the local processing of raw materials, job creation, skills development, and the enhancement of production capacities.
However, beyond the political and security-related alignment with Moscow, the objective will be to secure agreements backed by partners.
