Nous apprenons par l'AFP, qui l'a appris de son avocat qu'Anicet DOLÉGUÉLÉ, le principal opposant politique à Touadéra, serait interdit arbitrairement de sortie du territoire, depuis Mardi dernier, sans justification judiciaire donc. (pourquoi il a un passeport diplomatique, au fait, au nom de quoi ?)

We have learnt from AFP, which obtained the information from his lawyer, that Anicet DOLÉGUÉLÉ, Touadéra’s main political opponent, has reportedly been arbitrarily barred from leaving the country since last Tuesday, without any legal justification. Comme il fallait s'y attendre, une partie (les informaticiens), du personnel de l’Autorité nationale des élections est en grève, pour non-paiement de 2 mois de salaire, ce qui bloque l’annonce des résultats des élections législatives et régionales. Cette situation met en lumière la faiblesse de l'ANE, et les dysfonctionnements structurels du processus électoral dans le pays..

It was an easy election for Mathieu Sarandji, who was re-elected as Speaker, as he was the only candidate standing for re-election on 7 May, having been elected by 87 of the 90 MPs present in the first round of the general election. He was re-elected during the first extraordinary session of the 8th Parliament.

Since yesterday, the 130-kilometre Bocaranga-Bouar road has been undergoing repairs (and with good reason – it’s in a right state). It is a project worth one billion CFA francs, funded by the European Union and carried out by the company Rosami BTP (whose Facebook page is here: facebook.com/...), but the Touadéra government, which has done nothing and provided no funding, has taken credit for it.

À Bossangoa dans l'Ouham, les enseignants contractuels du ministère de l'Education nationale sont en grève depuis le 4 Mai pour réclamer du gouvernement le paiement de ......5 mois d’arriérés de salaires. Quand on vous dit que dans ce pays, le gouvernement ne paye pas ses fonctionnaires.

In Bossangoa, in the Ouham region, contract teachers employed by the Ministry of Education have been on strike since 4 May, demanding that the government pay them five months’ worth of back pay. It just goes to show that in this country, the government doesn’t pay its civil servants.
